Overview

The Credentialing Assistant supports departmental activities to ensure quality in conducting, maintaining, and communicating provider credentialing, privileging, and source verifications. Serves as a resource to, and collaborates with, others to advance the quality of practitioners and patient safety of the facility.   

 

Credentialing Assistants function under the general supervision of the Director of Medical Staff Services

Skills performed (but not limited to):

  • Student observer and precepting student processing 
  • Conducts and maintains credentialing and privileging applications and files
  •     Facilitates medical staff functions
  • New provider orientation (assist and schedule)
  • Provide credentialing information as requested
  • Meeting scheduling, preparation and follow up as directed. 

Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

               High School Graduate

               Associate/Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

               0-5 years in the medical services field (preferred)

 

Excellent typing/data entry skills required

 

Computer skills:  Microsoft Word and Excel

MD Staff credentialing software (preferred)

Physician Table CPSI (preferred)
