Overview

Job Summary 

Maintain electrical power for lighting and equipment, detect malfunctions, and perform electrical repair and installation.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

 

  1. Repair electrical systems and equipment and handle preventive maintenance.
  2. Requisition material and supplies.
  3. Install switches, receptacles and lights.
  4. Complete work orders, PM’s and other records in an accurate and timely manner.
  5. Perform tests on power circuits, distribution panels.
  6. Maintain the tube system.
  7. Perform any emergency service required for the safety of personnel, building and equipment.
  8. Perform generator maintenance and testing.
  9. Assist in electrical related tasks involving building component installation, maintenance, demolition, renovation and repair.
  10. Monitor facilities for needed repairs, maintenance, safety concerns and hazardous materials.
  11. Respond to fire and other emergencies.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

 

Education: HS/GED required.  Two years trade school, college or equivalent.  Some licensing or certification preferred.

Experience: Three years experience or comparable combination of education and experience.

Additional Skills/Abilities:

  1. Ability to repair, maintain, modify and install electronic and lower power electrical equipment with assorted hand and power tools.  Basic understanding of the use of test instruments and diagnostic equipment.
  2. Ability to read manuals, schematics, and diagrams, with a basic understanding of blueprints.
  3. Ability to reason and troubleshoot problems in a logical, systematic manner.
  4. Ability to maintain and complete written records, logs, requisitions and work orders.
  5. Posses a basic understanding of applicable codes and ordinances.
  6. Knowledge of general safety rules.
  7. Knowledge of emergency response procedures.

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
