Overview

Primary Responsibilities:

  • In absence of staff, performs and maintains all job tasks and responsibilities of the Eligibility Specialist as outlined in the Eligibility Specialist Job Description
  • Develops and maintains workflow within the department to include Registration and Billing to ensure timely eligibility award, billing and account resolution
  • Ensures all Eligibility staff is properly trained, including training on all new rules and regulations on all programs
  • Prepares Daily and Monthly reports accurately and timely as requested by Revenue Cycle Director and/or CFO
  • Reviews and completes bi-weekly staff time edits
  • Documents CPSI account progress accurately and timely
  • Interacts with attorneys involving disability claims and Alabama Medicaid Agency to build positive work relations
  • Expedites active Medicaid Number to billers and payment follow up for rejection errors
  • Reports any troublesome issues to Revenue Cycle Director promptly
  • Responds to all emails and voicemails within 48 hours

Qualifications

 

This position requires, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred.  Prior experience in the healthcare environment and/or customer service is preferred. This position requires certification through Medicaid as an Application Assister and to award HPE.  A working knowledge of computers and systems to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are necessary.  This position requires the ability to communicate in a pleasant, professional, concise, and caring manner. It also requires critical thinking and problem solving to ensure the best care possible for our patients.  Bi-lingual is preferred.

About Us

Position Summary:  The Eligibility Program Manager is responsible for the management of the eligibility at Marshall Medical Centers.  They must maintain compliance with current guidelines and all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to these programs.  They work alongside staff to award patients with assistance through a variety of programs.
