Perform and administer all therapeutic Respiratory Care procedures related to patient care in accordance with the Respiratory Care Policy and Procedure Manual
Maintain documentation as related to Respiratory Care.
May include any other duties deemed necessary by Director / Technical Supervisor

Administers various forms of therapies according to academic level
Knows signs and symptoms of Adverse Reactions, and the steps necessary for patient safety.
Setup and maintain invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Responds to and knows the duties required of respiratory in "CODE BLUE"
Proficient in arterial puncture and bloodgas analysis
Performs Quality Controls, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on the Bloodgas equipment.
Consistently completes duties assigned
Maintain accurate records and documentation of therapies administered to patients.
Accurately performs patient charging procedures as are required.
Communicate effectively with a physician, co-workers and other staff about patient care
Ability to assess a patient and assist in developing a Care Plan as indicated.
Process or clean equipment.
Proficient in setup, operation, and monitoring of equipment utilized in patient care.
Collect and maintain data as is necessary for Performance Improvement program.
Ability to interact with co-workers, other staff, physicians, patients and visitors in a pleasant and professional manner

Approval from Alabama State Board of Respiratory Care is required.
Current enrollment and forward progression in an accredited school of respiratory therapy as determined by CoARC.
CPR certification is required with PALS, ACLS, and NRP acquired as permitted by respective school program.
