Under the direction of the Radiology Director, and a radiologist, performs imaging procedures producing two-dimensional high frequency sound waves to create diagnostic images of the human body for use in diagnosis of medical conditions, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Responsibilities include knowledge of all Ultrasound procedures, proper patient positioning, exposures, Utilization of PACS, implementation of patient charges, and assists physicians as required. Will be available for emergency on-call procedures as required, or set forth. Recognizes the need for control/assessment of pain for patients and helps to prevent or reduce patient pain levels when possible.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education/Licensure: Graduate of an accredited Ultrasonography program.
Experience:One year hospital experience preferred, but new graduates considered
Additional Skills/Abilities: . BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. Must have basic computer skills and excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
