Performs repetitive and basic therapeutic procedures consistent with the duties of a Patient Care Aide. Supports team members by assisting as needed to assure optimal patient care. Assists with duties (within scope of limitations) in lab rooms when needed.
High School diploma/GED required.
BCLS required within 90 days of employment.
Minimum of six months in the Patient Care Aide role. Possesses knowledge of basic understanding of cardiopulmonary anatomy.
Current CPR and BLS required. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment. Ability to perform effectively in emergency and stressful situations. Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate clearly. Knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures. Ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, staff and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Upholds effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness. Must complete an initial competency in order to start peripheral IVs.
