The Clinical Charge Nurse identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning and delegating care based on patient needs. Executes therapeutic physician orders and therapeutic nursing interventions. Evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress towards patient outcomes. Coordinates care between other professional disciplines as needed. Helps patients and/or staff identify problems and explores with them the alternative choices and outcomes.
The RN Oversees the day to day operations of the clinical PICU/ Kids Care team, manages processes and initiatives. The RN advocates process change with an understanding of problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future goals of the PICU/Kids Care transport. The RN contributes to delivering, directing, and evaluating the care and functions of clinical staff. The RN develops, implements, and evaluates education plans/programs for PICU, Kids Care, and outlying facilities. The RN maintains employee education files for PICU and Kids Care transport to include supporting neonatal and respiratory staff.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Education: Graduate of accredited school of Nursing with current Alabama Licensure
Experience: 3 years of critical care experience as well as Clinical expertise in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the health organization.
Requirements: Pediatric Advanced Life Support Required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Required within 1 year of hiring.
Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
